Lend a Hand at the 2026 Dayboro Rodeo

The Dayboro Rodeo is one of those rare events that genuinely belongs to the whole community. It's been a tradition in our corner of the valley for generations, and every year it comes together because locals step up.

We're now calling for volunteers for the 2026 event. There are roles to suit everyone, whether you're an early riser who wants to help with bump-in and setup, someone who'd rather work the gates or car park on the day, or you're happy to lend a hand wherever you're needed.

What's in it for you?

A great day out with good people. Free entry. Food and refreshments for volunteers. And the satisfaction of knowing you helped keep a proud Dayboro tradition alive.

No special skills required - just reliability and a decent attitude. Families, mates, individuals, all are welcome.

If you can spare a few hours, we'd love to hear from you. Register your interest by contacting the Dayboro Rodeo Association on this page.

Terms and conditions

  • VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By registering as a volunteer for the Dayboro Rodeo (the “Event”), organised by the Dayboro Rodeo Committee (the “Organiser”), you (the “Volunteer”) acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read these terms carefully before completing your registration.

    1. Voluntary Participation
The Volunteer acknowledges that their participation in the Event is entirely voluntary and undertaken of their own free will.

The Volunteer is not an employee, contractor, or agent of the Organiser and no employment or contractual relationship is created by virtue of volunteering.

The Organiser reserves the right to accept or decline any volunteer registration at its sole discretion.

    2. No Remuneration
The Volunteer acknowledges and agrees that they will receive no payment, wage, salary, fee, honorarium, or other form of remuneration or compensation for their volunteer services.

Any meals, refreshments, or merchandise provided to the Volunteer during the Event are provided at the sole discretion of the Organiser and do not constitute remuneration.

The Volunteer waives any and all claims for compensation arising from their volunteer activities.

    3. Assumption of Risk
The Volunteer acknowledges that the Event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to risks associated with livestock, horses, bulls, heavy machinery, vehicles, uneven terrain, extreme weather conditions, dust, noise, crowds, and the general nature of rodeo events.

The Volunteer voluntarily assumes all risks of personal injury, illness, death, or property damage or loss that may arise from, or be connected to, their participation as a volunteer at the Event.

The Volunteer acknowledges that they participate entirely at their own risk.

The Volunteer confirms that they are physically and mentally fit to perform the volunteer duties assigned to them and will immediately notify the Organiser of any condition that may affect their ability to safely perform their duties.

    4. Release and Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Volunteer releases and discharges the Organiser, its committee members, officers, employees, agents, sponsors, contractors, and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from all claims, demands, actions, suits, or proceedings of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Volunteer’s participation in the Event, including claims for personal injury, illness, death, or property damage.

The Volunteer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from or attributable to the Volunteer’s acts, omissions, or breach of these terms.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability arising under the Australian Consumer Law.

    5. Insurance
The Volunteer acknowledges that the Organiser’s insurance policies may not cover all risks or losses sustained by the Volunteer during the Event.

The Volunteer is strongly encouraged to obtain their own personal insurance coverage, including personal accident, health, and property insurance, for the duration of their participation.

The Organiser makes no representations or warranties regarding the availability or adequacy of insurance coverage for volunteers.

    6. Duties and Conduct
The Volunteer agrees to perform only those tasks and duties as directed by the Organiser or its authorised representatives.

The Volunteer must comply with all reasonable directions, policies, and safety procedures issued by the Organiser at all times.

The Volunteer must not attend or perform duties while under the influence of alcohol or illicit substances.

The Volunteer must treat all participants, spectators, fellow volunteers, and animals with respect and courtesy.

The Organiser reserves the right to remove any Volunteer from the Event at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability.

    7. Health and Safety
The Volunteer must follow all workplace health and safety requirements, signage, and directions provided by the Organiser.

The Volunteer must wear any personal protective equipment (PPE) or clothing as directed by the Organiser.

The Volunteer must immediately report any accident, injury, hazard, or unsafe condition to the Organiser or a designated safety officer.

The Volunteer must not operate any equipment, machinery, or vehicles unless specifically authorised and instructed to do so by the Organiser.

    8. Confidentiality
The Volunteer agrees to keep confidential any proprietary, financial, operational, or personal information obtained during the course of their volunteer duties.

This obligation survives the conclusion of the Event and the Volunteer’s involvement.

    9. Use of Image and Likeness
The Volunteer consents to the Organiser photographing, filming, or otherwise recording their image, likeness, and voice during the Event.

The Volunteer grants the Organiser a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use such recordings for promotional, marketing, educational, and media purposes without further consent or compensation.

    10. Privacy
Personal information collected during the registration process will be handled in accordance with applicable Australian privacy legislation, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld).

The Volunteer’s personal information will be used for the purposes of managing and coordinating volunteer activities, emergency contact, and communication regarding the Event.

The Organiser will not disclose the Volunteer’s personal information to third parties except as required by law or with the Volunteer’s consent.

    11. Termination
Either the Volunteer or the Organiser may terminate the volunteer arrangement at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability.

Upon termination, the Volunteer must return any property, equipment, identification, or materials belonging to the Organiser.

    12. General Provisions
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

These terms constitute the entire agreement between the Volunteer and the Organiser in relation to volunteer participation at the Event and supersede all prior agreements, representations, or understandings.

The Organiser reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Volunteers will be notified of any material changes.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND AGREEMENT
By registering as a volunteer, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. I acknowledge that I am participating as a volunteer entirely at my own risk and that I am not entitled to any remuneration or compensation.
